​2026 WBC — Korea vs Japan Game Report

​The 2026 WBC game between Korea and Japan was very exciting. Many fans watched the game. Korea did not win many games before, so this game was very important. Both teams used their best players. Korea started pitcher Ko Young-pyo, who plays for the KT Wiz. Their hitters were Kim Do-young, Ahn Hyun-min, and Moon Bo-kyung. Japan started pitcher Yusei Kikuchi, who plays for the L.A Angels. Their hitters were Shohei Ohtani, Masataka Yoshida, and Seiya Suzuki.

In the first inning, Korea played very well. Kikuchi threw a changeup to Lee Jung-hoo. Jung-hoo swung and BOOM! He hit a single and got one run. Then, Moon Bo-kyung was up to bat. The pitch was thrown, strike! The umpire called out. The second pitch came, it was a fastball over the middle, and BOOM Bo-kyung hit a double and got two more runs. Korea was winning 3-0.

But Japan came back fast. Seiya Suzuki was up to bat. The Korean pitcher threw two great strikes. The count was 0-2. The Korean fans started to scream loudly, "ONE MORE STRIKE! ONE MORE STRIKE!"... BOOM! Unfortunately, Suzuki hit a home run and scored two runs. The score was now 3-2. In the third inning, Japan hit three home runs. They took the lead. The score was 3-5.

Then, it was time for the amazing Kim Hye-seong to hit. The pitcher threw three balls in a row. The count was 3-0. The next pitch came, CRACK! It was a foul ball. The count was now 3-1. The next pitch came... STRIKE!! Now, the count was 3-2. Suddenly, the crowd got really quiet. BOOM!! CRACK!! POP!! Kim Hye-seong hit a big home run. He got two runs. Now, the score was 5-5. The game was very close. Korea even got one more run. But Japan got more runs in the end. Unfortunately, Korea lost the game, but they played very hard. In the end, both Korea and Japan advanced to the final stages of the WBC in America.
